"There is no reason in our fast growing county for anyone to go to bed hungry, without a roof over their heads, to be deprived of needed medical care or go to work or school in tattered clothing. You can help this be a reality by supporting Helping Hands.”
- Dr. Bruce Paton
Director Emeritus

The Board of Directors meets on the 4th Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Call (972) 771-4357 for detail.

Food Pantry
Words are sweet, but they never take the place of food.
-Ibo Proverb

Rockwall County Helping Hands food pantry is run in conjunction with the emergency assistance program, offering relief to those families who are unable to put food on the table due to a crisis.

Families are provided with enough canned goods, staples, and refrigerated and frozen items to last them a week.

In 2006 Helping Hands gave away 14,000 bags of food valued at more than $100,000.00.

Occasionally Helping Hands has to purchase staples and meats for the pantry, but the vast majority of food is supplied through food drives by schools, churches, U.S. Postal employees and youth groups like the Boy Scouts.

Pizza Hut supplies pizza every week and Albertson’s provides bakery goods daily for the food pantry. Both are treats to an otherwise predictable pantry fare.
